Out of the metal curve – into orbit!

Everything used to be simpler. A customer would come in, want a welding cell for car body parts, maybe a little robot to go with it, and that was it for the engineering menu. FEM, CFD, verification according to guideline XYZ – all good. But then came... well, what exactly? The transformation? The turning point? Or simply: reality?

Numerous companies from the traditional automotive industry, with machines, systems, handling systems, or test benches in their portfolios, suddenly find themselves standing there like a sheet metal bender without an order: “Now what?” The answers no longer lie in the next platform generation of XY engines, but in entirely new spheres: aerospace, medical technology, defense, new technologies, artificial intelligence.

Because – hand on heart – we too had to rethink our own business model. From a pure automotive supplier to a strategic development hub for anyone aiming high. Instead of exhausts, now satellites. Instead of axle guides, now medical implants or flying sensor platforms. And we say: it was the best decision we've made in the last 25 years.

They have outstanding technology. Really! The products are durable, reliable, and well designed. But hardly anyone needs new spot welding pliers when there are no more car bodies to weld. And when it comes to tenders for space-grade enclosures with vacuum loads and 3g vibration scenarios, that's when the frowns start.

Don't ask yourself, “How can we incorporate this component into medical technology?” Instead, ask, “What can we develop for these industries using our expertise?” A test bench becomes a testing device for artificial heart valves. A plant component mutates into a satellite carrier. A welding robot becomes an assembly aid in arms manufacturing.
